IRVING ABELLA


 (born July 2, 1940) is a Canadian writer, historian and academic. He specializes in the History of the Jews in Canada and the Canadian labour movement
Born in TorontoOntario, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree (1963),Master of Arts (1964) degree, and Ph.D. (1969) from the University of Toronto.
His books have included Coat of Many Colours: Two Centuries of Jewish Life in Canada (1990) and None is Too Many: Canada and the Jews of Europe 1933-1948 (1983). He is a professor at York University and is a former president of the Canadian Jewish Congress (1992 to 1995).
